This morning I woke to the first real snow we’ve seen all winter.
Take that global warming. All is now right in my world.
I more than hate the cold, but somehow manage to love many things about NY winters.
Winters are much more intimate than summers. I.adore.that. They are filled with hole-in-the-wall bars that you can stumble into bundled up, ski trips with hot cocoa and hot tubs, game nights with your closest friends, dinner parties with homemade meals, and the smell of wood-burning fireplaces. Winters slow me down…in a good way. I stay in bed a little longer, drive a little slower, and spend more time with family and my closest friends.
Don’t get me wrong, I’ll take the warm sun over snow any day, but changing seasons keep things interesting and keep me appreciative of where i am and the people i spend time with at this moment.

Plus I can finally bust out my new super cute snow boot socks!
My Sam, on the other hand, loves everything about the snow so he was beyond.pumped.today.
YESSSSSS!!!! Sam in the snow! Love it.
